South Florida Water, Sustainability, and Climate Project Data

The South Florida Water, Sustainability, and Climate (SFWSC) Project data sets address the project's five specific objectives which include the development of hydro-economic models and the collection of data to investigate 1) the economic value of ecosystem services and ecological functioning and 2) the potential hydrologic, ecological and economic impacts of management schemes that are designed to increase the resilience of the system to climate variability, climate change and sea level rise. These data will help with the understanding the roles of cognitive and perceptual biases in risk assessment and decision-making in scenario evaluations and with the development of recommendations for adaptive water management plans that optimize economic productivity and the value of ecosystems services.

All data are provided with accompanying documentation called 'metadata', which is 'data' about data. Metadata includes many details about the data including how, when and by whom a particular set of data was collected and details on the data format. The SFWSC project adheres to the LTER network-wide Ecological Metadata Language (EML 2.1.0) standard developed at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS). The SFWSC EML 2.1 Metadata template, available in Microsoft Excel (.xlsx), is downloadable. SFWSC data may be freely downloaded with as few restrictions as possible. Consultation or collaboration with the original investigators is strongly encouraged. Please keep the data set originator informed of any plans to use the dataset and include the dataset's proper acknowledgement found under 'How to cite these data' on the dataset's summary table. By downloading and using data collected by the SFWSC researchers, the user agrees to the terms of the SFWSC Data User Agreement found in the SFWSC Project Data Management Policy.
